5. How often should I apply the Natural Timber Sealer?
Start with two applications in quick succession before fully exposing the furniture. Two applications will be sufficient for furniture kept on the patio with no exposure to moisture. You can determine that it is time to re-oil when there is no waxy feel on the surface of the furniture. The wax provides waterproofing but when fully exposed, it does not last longer than approximately 3 to 4 weeks in the initial stages of treatment, but after the first year the surface protection will last between 6 and 8 weeks or longer as the furniture matures. In harsh conditions, the frequency of preventative oil maintenance should be increased correspondingly.
6. Can I apply too much Natural Timber Sealer?
No, rather too much Natural Timber Sealer than too little. If applied with a soaked but not dripping cloth on a regular basis, the timber will last much longer and maintain its natural timber look.
